Our office will be closed in observation of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth is recognized as the official end to slavery within the Confederate Territory. The people enslaved in Galveston Bay, Texas were not informed of their freedom until Union soldiers arrived and made the announcement by executive decree—two years after the Emanicipation Proclamation originally took effect.
